This year is the centenary of the decision by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to have women as ruling elders alongside men in the spiritual oversight of our congregations. 

There are, at present, over 1,000 women elders faithfully serving Christ in our churches. 

To mark this important milestone two short films have been produced. 

The first sets the decision in 1926 in its historical and cultural context.  

The second presents a biblical basis for the policy and practice of our church. 

These films are dedicated to you and the other women elders of the PCI as an expression of thanks and to affirm you in your ministry.
